If I believe I have written the perfect song, but no one hears it, is the song only perfect to my own ear? Everyone hears something different, and I hypothesize that the perfect song is either:

1) Heard the exact same to every individual ear

2) Heard completely different to each personal ear

So, does the song I intend to create have to be uniform or unique? Would it be fair to call common music like pop and rap uniform and indie/instrumental music unique? I guess it depends on a person's perception, of which determines favoritism towards the uniformity or unique beauty in the nature of my song writing effort.

To conclude my random thought process of the day, I profess that it is indeed important to be unique, to sound different, however influential to sound uniform, to sound appealing to all. Finding the perfect harmony in these two polar opposites is the key to successful musical creation.
